Capital came from British Business Bank, Regional Growth Fund, the North East LEP, European Regional Development Fund, European Investment Bank and legacy funds from North East Access to Finance.

The portfolio covers a range of sectors from software, clean energy, and medical technology to established manufacturing and service businesses. It is now in its ‘realisation’ phase, with a focus on generating returns for the region. Our mission is to generate a significant financial returns for deployment as legacy across the North East region. We do this through loan re-payments, trade sales, sales to new investors and management buybacks.

These funds are now being recycled in the North East to provide new investment capital for local small and medium sized businesses.  These legacies will in turn attract additional public and private sector funding and will continue to create hugely important cash assets for the region.

We manage the remaining investments in-house, supported by experienced non-executives and specialists in key sectors.

Successful entrepreneurial businesses are vital for future growth in the region, generating sustainable employment and skilled jobs.
