IBEX is on a mission to improve patient’s lives through better access to osteoporosis screening and diagnosis. Globally the condition is 80% underdiagnosed and fractures are estimated to cost $400bn per annum. In the UK, one in two women over 50 will break a bone due to poor bone health. IBEX’s patented Bone Health software is set to change this by providing ready access to opportunistic screening from a standard X-ray.

IBEX has been developing medical X-ray imaging software solutions since 2014 and employs a team of highly skilled physicists, mathematicians, software engineers and business professionals at its modern facilities in County Durham. IBEX maintains close academic links with Durham and Newcastle Universities and the NHS Trusts of Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals, South Tees and Gateshead.

IBEX is backed by leading Venture Capital and Corporate investors as well as through Innovate UK’s Biomedical Catalyst and Smart Award programmes. Development of the core technology has also been supported by funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020.
