As part of the Routes to Investment programme, the Experience Bank has been set up by NEA2F to encourage experienced people to become involved in helping regional businesses to start and to grow.
The Bank will be a directory of people who have business experience who are willing to use their skills and know-how to help local businesses.
NEA2F will manage the Bank in order to introduce businesses to individuals by matching appropriate skills and experience.
This is a free service to businesses and people who join the bank database.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
If you join the Bank, we will keep your profile/CV in a database and if a business or investor/fund manager is looking for someone with your profile, we will ask your permission to offer your information to them. They may ask for more than one profile, and they will almost certainly be keen to talk to you.
Local businesses will access the Bank via professional firms, fund managers, business groups/clubs and clearing banks. NEA2F will strictly control this access.
If you are chosen by a business, you might find yourself initially acting as a critical friend/coach/mentor. How the relationship develops over time is up to you and the business involved – for example you could choose to become a non-exec director or an investor (business angel), or you could stay as a hugely valuable mentor and business friend.
IS THIS FOR YOU?
You are likely to be someone with a combination of skills, experience and some available time.
Perhaps you have owned or run a business, had profit centre responsibility or have high level specialist skills - perhaps in sales, marketing and commercial roles (rare and critical skills)or I.T. etc.
THE REWARDS
There could be rewards for your involvement, especially if you become an investor. Some businesses may pay non-execs and mentors/coaches for high levels of work input.
Clearly if you can give your services in return for a future reward or simply to “put something back” then so much the better.
Your arrangement with the business is up to you.
NEA2F makes no undertaking that you will be matched chosen or paid. Our role is simply to manage the Bank and this free of charge matching service.
