Since our launch in April 2010 one of our key projects has been to start work on the creation of a financial community through our website www.nea2f.co.uk. Throughout the course of 2010 this work will continue to be developed utilising our many friends and partners in the region. As well as finding out who we are and what we do, users are able to access the following features:
• Find Finance – we recognise the importance of choosing the right funding and aim to make this easier for business owners and finance directors by providing information on the comprehensive range of support on offer for businesses and start ups in the North East.
• Business Support - to enable users to find current access to finance support in the North East region, we have put together a list of subsidised products which are part of ‘Solutions for Business’, the government’s package of publicly funded business support, enabling you to access leading experts at affordable fees.
• Events Calendar - our events calendar is constantly updated to ensure that we can offer users a comprehensive and relevant listing of upcoming business events in our region. Events which occur in the next 2-3 days are prominently featured on our home page; in addition we offer users the facility to interrogate the entire calendar and to filter results by sector and by organiser to find the events which are relevant to them.
• Business Angels - we have put together a listing of the main Business Angel Networks; all of whom are members of the British Business Angels Association (www.bbaa.org.uk) and have signed up to its code of conduct. They are all based in the UK and match investors with Businesses from across the UK.
• Finance Updates - good news stories celebrating local business and entrepreneurship feature heavily on our home page along with items of local and regional news that are relevant to our users.
