North East Business Executive of the Year 2010

Now in its 27th year, the North East Business Executive of the Year Awards are one of the longest running business events in the region. This year will be as prestigious and as coveted an event as ever.

The range of categories at this glittering awards ceremony are:

- Durham & Wearside Business Executive of the Year

- Tees Valley Business Executive of the Year, sponsored by Teesside Business School at Teesside University

- Tyneside & Northumberland Business Executive of the Year

- North East Business Executive of the Year, sponsored Dickinson Dees LLP

- Lifetime Achievement Award

- Young Business Person of the Year, sponsored by Newcastle University Business School

'Consortium of Local Businesses'

- Non-Executive Director of the Year, sponsored by a 'Consortium of Local Businesses'

As the titles of the award categories suggest, the first 3 awards will be given to a worthy contender in that sub-region. The overall North East Business Executive of the Year honour will then be bestowed onto one of the winners from the 3 sub-regional heats.

The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to an individual who has contributed significantly to the business community in their working lifetime, with the Young Business Person of the Year going to an up-and-coming dynamic executive aged 30 and under on September 1st 2010.

The Non-Executive Director of the Year honour will be bestowed upon a Non-Exec working in the North East region whose contribution often goes unnoticed.

The Business Editors of The Journal and Evening Gazette will use their vast business knowledge to put forward their nominations and readers will also be invited to send in their nominations with the closing date for nominations being Friday 27th August 2010.

A judging panel, made up of key professionals from the North East Business Community and representatives from the sponsoring organisations, will then pull together a shortlist and decide the winners for each category.
