'If we can, you can' is inspired by and built on the principles that underpin the well-respected Entrepreneurs' Forum – the best way to fast-track your progress in business is to talk to and learn from someone who has already been through the experience.
People using the online website can share ideas, knowledge and their own entrepreneurial insights of starting up their businesses in the region. The idea behind the campaign is to inspire individuals, to create an entrepreneurial culture, helping those who are new to business to succeed, grow their businesses fast, grasp the opportunities that come to them and ultimately recognise that entrepreneurs are not restricted due to their backgrounds.
The website offers aspiring entrepreneurs connections with an experienced community, volunteering their knowledge and willing to advise those individuals looking to start up their own business. Further to this there is a large bank of user-generated content to help those new to business.
The ‘If we can, you can’ Challenge 2010 is running this year, on the back of its huge success in 2009. Past winners include Craig Smith, who started his business out of the corner of his living room.
Craig Smith of The Printed Bag Shop said “When we started the business in the corner of the living room, we never expected that two years later we would be one of the UK’s leading suppliers of printed bags.”
Louise Bell, another winner started Healthy Glow by accident. “I was booked to spray-tan a bride and she turned up with her mother, mother-in-law and three bridesmaids. I sprayed them all – it turned into a second hen party and was the start of Healthy Glow” she said.
The finalists selected by judges are on the website and are voted for by the public. Entrants have the benefits of full member status with their own profile and access to the full website package of inspiration, learning, mentoring and
the exclusive entrepreneurial insights from those who have been there and done it.
