The DigitalCity Business Growth Workshop System [BGWS] is designed to arm entrepreneurs with everything they need to know to launch and grow a business successfully. It’s about taking great ideas – your great ideas – and giving them the best possible opportunity for quick and successful growth.
And this time, you can do so with the full backing and support of Teesside University. The BGWS is now fully accredited by Teesside University, meaning that you'll have the support and backing of everything the University has to offer, from research tools to all university facilities to help you grow your business. And at the end of the System, you will have a real, tangible and recognised university-level business qualification.
However, this is anythnig but a dry academic course. On the contrary. You will be taught by industry-experienced professionals, withs speed and intensity of purpose infused into every business-focussed workshop. It’s fast, intensive and hard-work. Because that’s the only way to truly succeed in creating a successful high-growth business. This is especially the case in the rapid development worlds of the creative and digital industries. The BGWS is specifically designed for the digital media, digital technology and creative industries, where a good idea today could well be yesterday’s news tomorrow.

The System
The BGWS is an intensive 11-week programme of workshops designed to guide start-ups through the difficult process of taking an initial idea, product or service through to full market entry, sales generation and growth sustainability. It’s a critical stage for any new business, product or service, and it’s essential to get it right first time.
The BGWS comprises 17 unique workshops. Each dedicated to an essential development aspect for a new business venture. There are two workshops a day each lasting three hours [we did say it was intensive].

Business Action Plan
The BGWS is not a passive process. During the 11 weeks you will actively develop and refine your business vision, business model, business pitch, marketing, sales plan, sales projections, and, ultimately, your ambitions.
Week on week, you will also develop a Business Action Plan, building on the development of your business within each workshop. The Action Plan is your active roadmap to take your business to full market entry and business growth. By the end you’ll be tooled up for all areas of business. And that means business business, creative business – and personal business. This last element – personal development – is nearly always overlooked by other start-up systems but is vital because the greatest asset your business will have is a self-aware, capable and determined you.
The Business Growth Workshop System is free for the participant [subject to attendance at all workshops], and is a chance for you to develop with the right support, the right people, and in the right environment.
