When looking for private investment which is more important – your business plan or your pitch? The answer, of course, is both. Being great at the elevator pitch is not much use if you can’t back it up with a real understanding of your business financials; and no weight of business plan ever caught the eye of a busy angel investor.
So how to do both? The answer is at hand. Investment readiness specialists, Finance Tree, and leading business support organisation, Entrust, have come together to provide the route map to take ambitious businesses looking for equity finance into the region’s Investor Forum.
Entrust’s Investor Forum provides a showcase for high-growth and knowledge-based companies to present their investment proposals to an audience of private equity and venture capital investors, business angels, corporate financiers, and leading figures from the region’s professional services community.
Finance Tree is the region’s leading independent investment readiness training and mentoring company. With direct experience in corporate finance and business investment, they understand the needs of the investment process and the investor.
This workshop will help participants move from business plan to investment pitch. It considers venture investing from both the point of view of the investor and also the business owner. This unique approach ensures that expectations on all sides are considered in advance and responded to. Participants will learn about business growth models; what venture investors are really looking for; that there are both angels and demons out there; how the process actually works; and, crucially, what you are signing up to.
The Plan or the Pitch Investment Readiness workshop is scheduled for Monday 19 April – we still have places available but they’re filling up fast.
A selection process will identify those businesses that will go forward to Investor Forum on 13 May 2010.
