Non-executive Director

Mark trained and spent the early years of his career as a finance lawyer at Slaughter and May in London.

In 1982 he joined the Leeds predecessor firm of Addleshaw Goddard, becoming a partner in 1984. Throughout his time there Mark specialised in corporate finance and banking, concentrating on private equity and leveraged finance transactions. He was head of the Addleshaws Banking and Finance Group from 1999 to 2002.

In 2002 Mark joined The Royal Bank of Scotland as Director, Group Legal Services based in Edinburgh. In that role he was responsible for "business as usual" legal support for RBSG businesses globally. Whilst at RBS Mark effected a major integration and re-structuring of the RBS legal services function (comprising more than 130 lawyers) and put in place the first RBS group-wide legal panels.

In summer 2005 Mark returned to private practice in Leeds when he joined DLA Piper UK LLP as a partner. He specialises in acquisition and corporate finance generally.
